Technocon: The High School Myth

A lot of people enjoy the four years they spend in high school. They have a decent standing in the community and get invited to enough parties and social events to make the high school years some of the best years of their lives. If you fall into this category good for you, I wish you all the best. You see, if someone shared with me, what I am about to tell you. I would have not wasted so much of my time in high school!!! I enjoyed high school as much as the next person. However, I would have still gotten out sooner. As great as high school was, college was infinitely better. It was at college that I truly came into my own.

So using the gift of 20/20 hindsight, I will give you my would be plan. I will leave out the time machine and boil it all down. First buy a G.E.D study guide after your first year of high school.

Zeitgeist: Addendum

“The truth is brutal and though this movie repeated most of what we have already said, it is nice to see that others have noticed as well.  Our only escape is through self-sustainability. Our future is dependent on a quiet shift to self-sustainability.  Until one day there is enough of us to create a large national community. Only then we will have a chance to challenge the status quo and bring about a meaningful change for the masses. If the establishment is going to measure poverty by possession to validate its existence then the realization should be simple. Those with more have a great multitude and the rest of us have what we can.

If you intend to claim that poverty is based on the possession of a refrigerator in which you will find in every rental in the state; then let me clue you into the contents of said apparatus.  As It is obvious when you made your survey about poverty you neglected to look inside..

The movie below is important

A state of poverty

The economy has been up and down my whole life. I expect very little change.

One of the bitter facts in life is that billions of us are totally dependent on currency for our every day lives. Without it most people would starve. Fair enough, from the cradle to the grave we have been taught that our value is measured in dollars. We are judged on what we own. When seizing up a mate is it better to date a person who drives a Lexus or a Dodge Pinto? Does wealth make the man?

So then what is wealth? Vast amounts of currency? If you were to ask a child on the street what wealth was, they would in all likelihood say something a long the lines of lots of money… Low and so we have been trained to believe it, live it and sometimes suffer for it. However the truth is, money is just paper. A currency has only the value society places on it. We have been so wrapped up in the spell of currency so tightly that we fail to realize true wealth.

HagatWork Review: Edraw Mind Maps 4 – Organize your thoughts for free

There are loads of books how to use mind mapping for your personal and professional life.

May it be to sort your thoughts and develop concepts, depict process flows, present facts and structures and plans and ideas in a more intuitive way.

To be honest, I have not yet bought such books and in my private life I have not yet used mind mapping very much. However, at work we  use similar software  to document processes and make issues and concepts visually clearer.

Of course such business software is quite expensive.

So if you want to test mind mapping or just need once in a while such a software, try Edraw.

HagatWork Review: Paint.Net for PNG Files

If you ever wanted to amend PNG files, often used as icons in programs and websites, you will find that a lot of graphic programs are not able to change the size or look without destroying the features.

PNGs have often a transparent background, when amending the size suddenly the background or the actual motive gets weird colours or rough pixels.

The free program Paint.Net under http://www.getpaint.net/ can help here. Beside changing the size with Resize/Canvas Size it has the features of other programs. Also layering can be done, so you can build buttons and banners.

You can choose individual colours with the colour wheel, also there is a big selection of fonts.

There are plenty of other features for people who want to build or amend their graphics and photos, but I am no graphic design geek.

So I mainly used it for resizing and adding layers, text, frames for different file types.

HagatWork Review: Passwort Depot 5 – Never forget your passwords anymore

Nowadays you have to keep track of dozens of log-in details: E-mail, bank accounts, software registrations, accounts for community sites and job sites and electricity companies and gaming and online services and…. And then not to forget log-ins at work and for your cell phone and for your bank card and your credit card and….

I tried to memorize it but often enough, when I did not use the passwords daily or there was a requirement to change them regularly, then I sometimes forgot them with the hassle of ordering a new password.

Other people write the passwords down. When it comes to banking details and other security sensitive accounts, you might not want to do that. And if you put it on some paper after some months the lists like to become big and indecipherable.

Technocon: Made in America?

Remember, back in Glen Beck’s good old days, when Reagan was the president and all was right in the conservative world. Trickle-down was in full effect and large corporations swallowed up the most successful family owned businesses via hostile take over. Remember when Reagan gave the top 1 percent those massive tax breaks, while breaking communism by supplying the Taliban with weapons to use against the Russians. Who could forget that massive national debt and star wars project, protecting us from the threat of a nuclear war. Those good old days, when we watched most of our manufacturing jobs go overseas.

Now a days Reagan is considered the hero of the conservatives. Though I don’t know why. He was the worst president ever. The man got Alzheimer and a second term!!! Embarrassed us with the Iran-Contra scandal and gave the special interests everything they wanted. Which in turn was the death of Made in America. There was a time that we built more than a few plastic injection molds, and had a strong auto industry. When buying American was a standard of good quality.

Radio Episode 3: Technocon Who?

By 2050 the world as we know it will have change and what was will be no more. Climate change fuels the debate on greenhouse gasses and the effect it has on the environment. While the politician squabble about policy. The wealthy hire lobbyists to fight climate change legislation. Meanwhile the change in our environment continues making our future uncertain. Should we do something or is it all a game? Who is blame for climate change? Should we blame ourselves? Perhaps it is the age of personal-sustainability. The age of the Technocon.

Show notes:

In this episode we have a general discussion about the Technocon..What it is and what it is about. Parlayed into around about talk in which I advocate the need for sustainability and outline a few reason why one should pursue self-sustainability.

BTW we had some problems with the micro phone. Unfortunately we discovered it only during the play back. However, the audio quality is alright and you can hear the speak well enough. The next show is on Friday the 29that 5am ECT.  I promise you we will have the microphone issue sorted by then and hope that you will join us.
